In today’s high-speed industrial landscape, material handling challenges can directly determine the throughput of a laser processing line. A Permanent Magnet Laser Loader eliminates the inefficiencies of conventional vacuum or mechanical grippers by leveraging high-grade rare-earth magnets to securely lift, position and release ferrous sheets and parts without compressed air or constant power draw. Wanka has engineered a complete range of these loaders that integrate seamlessly with fiber laser cutters, punch-laser combos and automated storage towers, delivering faster cycle times and a cleaner shop floor.
The working principle behind a Permanent Magnet Laser Loader centers on an array of neodymium magnets arranged in a modular switching mechanism. When the loader descends onto a stack of steel plates, the magnetic circuit is mechanically closed, allowing flux to penetrate the top sheet. A micro-switch or inductive sensor confirms full contact, and the gantry or robot arm lifts the sheet with absolute stability. To release, a pneumatic or electric cylinder shifts the internal magnet array, cancelling the external field. Because the magnets only require energy during the switching pulse, the system remains locked in either state without consuming power, making it intrinsically safe even during power outages.
Our Permanent Magnet Laser Loader series includes products such as 1530 Permanent Magnet Laser Loader and 1325 Permanent Magnet Laser Loader, etc.
